Michael W. Ross composer and lyricist


COMPOSER MICHAEL W. ROSS, a native of Upstate New York, holds a B.F.A. in Opera Performance and an M.A. in Music Education. His musical experiences have ranged from arts administration to education as well as many performance capacities. He held positions at New York City Opera, Glimmerglass Opera and The Sylvia and Danny Kaye Playhouse and has sung with the Opera Company of Philadelphia, New York City Opera, DiCapo Opera and Opera Orchestra of New York.

Moving to South Florida in 2004, Michael became the Director of Music at the Arts Academy of Hollywood, Florida, accompanied several choral groups, had a Christmas Caroling company and taught privately. He currently sings with both Florida Grand Opera and Palm Beach Opera and teach- es piano/voice at the Pine Crest School, Fort Lauderdale campus. Michael’s compositions include art songs, instrumental music, a full requiem, and operas based on the lives of Anne Frank, Medusa, Mat- thew Shepard, Harriet Tubman, and his latest project will feature the story of Marie Antoinette.
