Opera Fusion announces auditions for our 2019 Renee Greenberg Emerging Artists Project — March 17th & 18th.
Opera Fusion will be mounting fully-staged productions of two Puccini one-act operas: Suor Angelica and Gianni Schicchi. Several of the principal roles will be double cast. There will be two performances at the Sunshine Cathedral on September 13th and 14th.
Auditions for all voice types will be held at the Sunshine Cathedral on Sunday March 17th from 3-7 pm and Monday March 18th from 1-4 pm. Please bring 2 selections, with at least one in Italian, plus your resume and headshot. A $15 audition fee is requested to cover the accompanist that will be provided, payable by check or through Zelle. We require candidates to be from or connected to southeast Florida and to submit a video of an aria in Italian. If you would also like to be considered for run out performances, please bring one standard or musical theater selection in English to the audition as well.
The month-long young artist program will provide 8-10 local singers with the unique opportunity to prepare and perform complete roles, supported by acting classes, musical coachings, staging and technical rehearsals, and group sessions. Rehearsals will begin the week of August 12th.
We will be joined once again by noted stage director Martha Collins, conductor and coach Greg Ritchey, and nationally recognized opera coach Ben Malensek.
Opera Fusion’s program one of the few summer young artist programs that does not require the singer to pay for the experience. All tuition and expenses are completely funded by our patrons and Board.
Please send your video, resume and headshot to Operafusioninc@gmail.com by March 1, 2019. If your have a preference for a specific audition date or time, please indicate that in your submission. You will be notified of your audition time by March 10th.
